Bideford

Bideford was once described as ‘the little white town’ by the 20th century author Charles Kinglsey, he of the famed Water Babies book. The quaint town, with its pannier market, borders the Rier Torridge and was once an important port. it is not far from the beaches that are washed by the Atlantic Ocean.
Boats still put out from Bideford, included amongst them are fishing vessels on their way to the Atlantic, sailing ships with their tall masts and the regular ferry to Lundy Island. Together with its beautiful park, two bridges and variety of shops and entertaiment Bideford makes for a lovely town to visit.
